<p>The Office of Information Technology has been made aware of an email scam with the subject, “FBI Alert/IRS.” UA employees, staff and students who receive the email should delete it immediately without opening it. Those who have opened the email should contact the UA Police Department to file a report. A copy of the scam is being forwarded to UAPD and the FBI. A letter attached to the email requests that readers send money to the IRS. In return, they will receive a large sum of money if they follow the instructions; those who do not follow the instructions will face consequences. The email and attached letter look official but are not.
