UB vs. RIT Engineering?

Which of these two schools has a better engineering prgram? From what I've heard Buffalo has the best engineering program in the SUNY system. Also, I got into UB's Honors College so that's a plus. However, I'm also considering RIT because of their top-notch co-op program. As of now, I am under the impression that RIT will be better for getting me into the job market. I'm not sure how these two schools compare as far as academics goes.

I hope you visit both.
Son preferred UB upon visiting and as disappointed in RIT.
Also, RIT said it may take 5 years to complete major (read extra years tuition.)

Son offered honors at UB, opted out. Had enough work.

UB has an amazing engineering job fair each Fall. Whether looking for summer internships or jobs for graduation, employers are there. While it is hard to acquire an internship between fresh and soph year, it seems easy for the next two summers as experience and resume fill up. Son and his girlfriend both got paid internships between soph and jr years and jr and sr years. Both have accepted job offers for when they graduate in May (and there were multiple to chose from!! )

I think UB has a great reputation for engineering. In the end, you have to decide and I doubt you can go wrong with either. I think the programs are comparable, with UB as noticeably less expensive as you know.

you would pay same number of semesters as UB. RIT is changing to semester system this Fall.

RIT doesn’t charge tuition during co-op semesters, but it extends the time to graduation.
