1) Which of these two is a better choice for science, medschool, and MBA?
I've heard that because UBC has so many Asian students the competition is much fiercer.

2) Which has more friendly people?
Generally people say that McGill (and Montreal in general) has more friendly people than UBC and this is often agreed upon with the exception that it is only towards Caucasians.

McGill is known for MBA and definitely canadas top med school (ranked first and then U of Toronto Med and Queens etc.)

UBC is more for engineering..... sciences would be good at either school... personally id say mcgill... their science department is great... Mcgill is world renowned as well.. ranked top 30 in the world generally as a university...

UBC is increasingly known for its Commerce and MBA program, which are highly competitive to get into. As I know, here, GPA alone won't get you in. You need to be very well rounded and have lots of extra curriculum.
For Medicine, definitely McGill.
For social, probably/perhaps McGill.
For Commerce/MBA, UBC all the way.
For campus, most definitely UBC.

McGill is ranked 12 in the world, and UBC 33.

The discrepancy of ranking for McGill seems a bit odd, as I have always thought it to be generally always ranked slightly higher than UBC. On the other hand UBC's ranking looks quite right year after year. Although they are gaining ground this year ('08). Macleans ranks it second (tie with Queen's) and McGill first, for all of Canada.
