My son was part of the first class at a new charter school in California. The school has had many problems and seemed to be floundering. As a result, for his senior year, he has transferred out to another school which is doing well.

Anyway, one of the problems of the old school is the quality of classes is bad, and it turns out that they didn't get many of their courses certified by the UC a-g cert program. So, for example, only the senior science offering is certified as a lab science. When my son looks at the Pathways website list or fills in a UC app, most of his courses aren't listed, for that school.

So, my question is, how much of a problem is this going to be for the seniors at that school? I don't think it matters for my son, because he's only applying to one UC, as a safety. Further, it appears that he meets the requirements for "admission by examination", because of his SATs. But I'm wondering, does not getting courses approved mean that school's students aren't UC eligible?

FYI, I can't ask the school, because we're no longer at it, and the administration lies over and over again about things like this. They haven't told the parents/students currently attending that they didn't get courses approved.
