UC Acceptances: I got my first C..

I just finished junior year, and I just got my first C+ in AP Literature. I know that it’s a C, and technically, I got a B… but I’m really anxious. I’m planning on applying to all of the UCs in California, with Irvine being my first choice, and I’m really scared that this C has killed my chances.

I got 2100 on the SAT I, and I’m planning to take college courses over the summer between junior and senior year at my local community college. In addition, during senior year, I’m doing this program (SV-CTE) where I attend another school for half of the day and attend my high school for the other half. At the other school, I’d be taking classes that pertain to veterinary assisting, and I will be receiving college credit from these courses. At school, I will be taking AP French, AP Lang, and AP Econ/Gov.

Therefore, I will be taking a total of six APs during my high school years and SV-CTE courses. I also have several extra-cirriculars that I participate in, and I also work part-time as a tutor for younger children.

Okay, so… after all of this information, here are my questions:

  1. What are my chances of getting into UCSD, UCI, UCD?
  2. Will UCs see my C+ or a B+ on my transcript for my AP Literature course?

Here are my grades below:

Freshman:
Biology: A/A-
English 1: A/A
Geometry: A-/B+
Guitar: A-/B+
French: B/B+
PE: A/B-

Sophomore:
Algebra 2: B/B
English 2: A/A
World History: A/A
Chemistry: B/B
French: A/A
PE: A-/A-

JUNIOR:
History: A/A
Math: B-/B+
Guitar: A/A+
AP Lit: B-/C+
French: A/A-
AP Physics 1: B/B

A C wont kill you. The UC’s will see a C+ on your transcript.

Academically, you are doing fine for UCSD, UCD, and UCI, just take challenging classes next year. I would say that with a good personal statement and solid EC’s that you are PASIONATE about, you have a great chance.
