UC Accepted TAG applicants thread

UCSD requires that a student have a 3.5 or above to be eligible for TAG.

Does the student have to maintain that 3.5 for the spring semester prior to admission?

What happens if he or she does not make that cutoff line? Do they get rescinded?

Does the student have to maintain that 3.5 for the spring semester prior to admission?

No, they have to maintain a 3.0 overall and a 2.0 spring semester. That is unless they received a customized conditions of acceptance, which they can check in the portal.

What happens if he or she does not make that cutoff line? Do they get rescinded?

If they don’t maintain a 3.0 overall and a 2.0 spring semester, they get rescinded.

Like so:

According to this TAG brochure, it states that students must maintain that 3.5 gpa.

http://admissions.ucsd.edu/TagBrochure.pdf</a></p>

However, this is the brochure for next years applicants, so I am unsure if this applies to current TAG applicants.

Doesn’t matter what the TAG brochure says, you’re already in. Go by the conditions of acceptance, they’ll get in trouble if you meet all those requirements and they don’t offer you admission. Call the admissions office if you don’t believe me. I sound kinda snotty saying that, but i don’t mean to the internet doesn’t translate my tone too well. :(

ahhh, thank you. makes me feel so much better. and no you didn’t sound snotty, just very straightforward, which is good! I’m sure that I will still graduate with a 3.5 or above though. I just hate the unnecessary pressure. Thank you so much. Hope to run into you at UCSD next fall :D

You’re welcome! I keep going back and forth between Cal and UCSD, but if I am at UCSD definitely!
