UC Additional comments?

<p>mentioning grandmother who died of cancer while I was in high school?: this created depression in the family and strife
mentioning aunt who had to go to rehad: my family having to support her
My family having to support my aunt and grandmother when they can barely afford to support ourselves
mentioning family members going to jail?(resulting in me being seperated from external family)
Family financial crisis: resulting in me moving to public school and also having to quit dance team and band....which is why I instead took more advanced classes and joinded clubs and volunteered</p>

<p>Is any of this relevent? What did any of you guys put on this ection of the UC app?
I just need any umph I can get....yet I don't know what to put down.....also for the EOP app is there an actual application for it?</p>

<p>In your personal statement, you should discuss special circumstances and obstacles have had to overcome, and how this has made you a stronger, more determined person (that is there were positive effects on you as a person. Avoid mentioning depression and other psychiatric issues; these are stigmatized-unfairly-and you may be flagged as someone who may possibly be at risk for harming yourself or others. It is fine to discuss death of grandmother, financial struggles and family in jail in essay- in fact, you should. Just be careful about disclosing your own psychiatric history .</p>
