UC admission question- credit for Summer school course

My D did an eligible summer school course in Bio the summer after 9th grade and before 10th grade year. This was done outside of her regular school. She got an A in this. She then changed her previously enrolled Bio course in her regular school for the 10th grade, and went to Bio AP in the 10th grade. Question: which year she should get credit for this course on the transcript ? My expectation was it will be for her Sophomore. Her school listed it in the Freshman year. Why does it matter ? UCs count only 10th and 11th grades. So this will make a slight difference in her overall score. (She is borderline- so needs all the help).

Also, if she did a course after 11th grade summer, will it count towards her senior year transcripts or junior year ? And do UC assign the year themselves or it depends on where it is listed on the school transcript ?

I am new to CC. Will appreciate if you could point to the right forum for the above question.

You will probably get better responses on the parents forum for this question. Your answer may depend on the HS. At the HS my kids went to, summer classes were listed in the next year. In other words, if they finished 11th grade and then took a Community College class the summer after, it went on the 12th grade part of the transcript.

Any class taken after 9th grade and prior to the start of the senior year counts in the UC GPA, but they give credit for A-G classes for all four years, which is why if you take e required A-G course in your senior year it is included in your eligibility for the UC's. On the UC Davis forum (Go to "Colleges", then "C", then "University California, Davis") there is an admissions officer who answers specific questions regarding the UC's.

Thank you so much ebeeee and bessie for your responses. bessie, the method you describe seems a logical one (10th grade and 11th grade GPA= 2 regular years, plus 3 summers). I did not think of that. I will post the question on the forum you suggested to get UC (Davis) specific policy.
