UC admission

My father is a professor at UCSD and once a chairman of the computer science department. Since UC's are public schools, would my dad's position help my admission chances into the uc system.

It probably won’t hurt your chances. What will help more would be good grades, high standardized test scores, a rigorous schedule (especially senior year), and an adequate amount of extracurricular activities.

In all likelihood, you’re in. A lot of publics (Cal Poly SLO comes to mind) have policies where if a parent is part of the university staff, you are automatically in.

do you think faculty at ucsd would help for berkeley or ucla admissions or is it considered irrelevant
