Well...sadly my report card has come home and I got a D in precalc. honors...=[. Does that mean my chance of attending a UC, especially UC Irvine, has gone out the door?

9-12th: 3.86w

SAT I
Math: 800...ironic, haha
Reading: 590
Writing: 620

SAT II
Math II: 780...yet again >< what happened in precalc???
Physics: 720

sigh...

I think you can still get into UCI. I don't think a D would be auto reject

Hmm, i hope not...><

The UC system does not calculate your freshman year grades into your GPA. But besides that, your GPA is not that bad considering the fact that the average GPA of students admitted to Irvine for fall 2005 was a 3.88.

Your SAT II scores are pretty impressive, but your Critical Reading score on your SAT I's could be better.

Unfortunately, UCs do not accept D grades and require students to retake the class to obtain a grade of a C or better. And even though the class you recieved a D in was an honors course, they will not calculate the extra point into your GPA.

Your Math IIc is pretty impressive, IIc and PreCalc is pretty much the same thing anyways. I wouldn't worry too much. Just make sure you retake that class.

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Match
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Safe Match

UC Merced is an optimistic school. It's new, easy admissions, nice campus, nice people, good professors and teacher-student ratios.

Isn't UC Merced worse than some CSU's.

Merced right now has nothing. So yes.

You can always retake in summer school. I failed both Precalc and Advanced Algebra, retook them and did well- I'm currently accepted at Cal.

You should be fine. Just don't let it happen your senior year.
