Okay, so I didnt pass my UC analytical writing test. Can I wait until my ap test results and hope that I get a 3, or I should plan on enrolling into "Approaches to University Writing?"

I don't have an answer to your question, but you have the opportunity to retake the AWPE during fall (before class starts I think).

Well my first notion when I saw this post was, How can a UCLA bound freshmen not pass a simple writing placement exam? But then I quickly realized that not everyone at UCLA or everyone that is UCLA bound is intellectually perfect.

Your best bet right now would wait for your AP English Literature score. If you get a three or higher then your good to go, if not your next option would be to enroll in a community college course that would fulfill the Entry Level Writing Requirement.

But here is where not passing the test hurts you, like many of the incoming freshmen you will be heading off to orientation within the next couple of weeks. During that time you will register for your fall classes but because you didnt pass the AWPE you wouldnt be able to sign up for any classes where fulfilling the Entry Level Writing Requirement is required. Also, I am not sure if retaking the AWPE is a option, I have heard it is a one shot deal with the placement exams at many of the UC schools.

Wish You The Best

It's my understanding that you enroll in English Comp A or English Comp 2 (determined by placement on the Analytical Writing Placement Exam). I think English Comp 2 should be completed by the end of your first year.
