Hi, I was wondering if every UC took AP scores into account when admitting? In my case, I've taken five AP tests so far.. I've passed but I passed three of them with 3's sadly and it's not so stellar. Please help me out if you know anything! Thanks!

Bumping.. can someone please tell me? How much do UC's take AP scores into account? Esp. UCB, UCLA, UCSD?

I'm not terribly familiar with the UC system (I'm an east coaster), but all the schools I've looked at have said that they barely look at AP scores. Often times they aren't even included in the same file. If you are taking AP classes and getting As with a couple of Bs, then they know that you are doing well, and they have a profile of your school, so they know whether the AP class is a joke or a true, rigorous, college level course.

Heh... I got into UCLA with a 1 and a 2. Don't worry about it.

yea i agree with leggomyeggo, i had mostly 3s, one 4 and one 2. don't worry about it. i doubt they really look at them.

Really? What school do you go to now aquasocks? I'm hating this college anxiety! My grades are 5, 4, 3, 3, 3... I wish I studied (harder?) for those three, it makes me feel so guilty everytime someone mentions APs :( :(

im going to ucla (will be a freshman in fall). im from chicago.

They are a plus if you scored a 4 or a 5, but wouldnt negatively affect you if you got 3s, at least you took the challenge. Don't forget that about half the people that took the same AP test as you probably didn't pass.

And at least you passed all of them.

All I know for sure is that AP scores are one of the least important factors in UC admissions... I can't imagine a score of 3/5 hurting you either way.
