UC and CCC GPA

So I know some of us getting "transferitis" . . . I thought I was immune but maybe not . . .

Anyway, I was accepted to UCB for Fall. I currently have a 3.93 GPA (two B's total). I am currently getting A's in all of my classes. I am starting to have a really hard time caring about one of them. It is the last prereq math class I ever have to take, and I just feel like the effort I am putting in is not worth the trouble to get an A! I usually really, really, really take getting all A's seriously but I'm starting to feel like getting a B in this class would not be the end of the world.

My question is how is our CCC GPA calculated with our UC GPA? I'm not worried about getting rescinded or anything because my conditions are to get a C in that class (not an issue), but if our CCC GPA is averaged with the UC GPA I want all the A's I can get.

Does anyone know? Forgive me if there is already a thread on this, I searched and couldn't find one . . . if there is one point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Your UC GPA is the most important one, mainly because it’s your last two years (most recent coursework) and at a 4-year school.

The two GPA’s are aggregated - not averaged. Let’s say you finish your CCC career with a 3.9 GPA, which is great. This GPA will be viewed next to your UC GPA (whatever you earn). The idea is to maintain near the same GPA you received at your CCC, or even improve to show progress and an upward trend at the 4-year.

In a nutshell, getting 1 B in this math class in the sophomore year at a community college is not a big deal whatsoever. I’m getting a 3.62 this semester, and frankly I don’t really mind lol. I do plan on going to grad or law school, and this semester’s grades (3 A’s and 2 B’s) will barely affect my chances in either direction.

Once I get to UCB or UCLA, that’s when my grades will matter more than they ever have.
