I just looked through the UCLA AP Credit page (for engineering) to see how many units I could get. As I stand now-with 5 AP tests taken and 5 to take this senior year-if I get a 5 on all of them, I will start Freshman year with 72 credits. However, the only explicit class exemption I would get is math 31A, with others being "general" classes. Do these count towards general education or what? Also, how easy is it to graduate from a 190 unit major in 3 years starting with 72 credits?

Calculated for UC davis; I get 58 units towards ~195 units for Aerospace engineering plus Chemistry 2A exemption and Math 21A and 21B exemption, not including GEs.

Would this be sufficient to graduate in three years, or would i still need to take some summer courses or something?

If no specific course or requirement (major or breadth) is satisfied by the AP credit, then it can only be used as lower division free elective credit toward the total number of units needed to graduate.

However, check each major department, and each department for the subject of the AP credit (e.g. the math department for AP calculus credit), for whether there is any additional information about placement recommendations.
