Hi all!
Maybe one of you can give me a clearer answer than what I got from when I called the UC applications office just now...

I have taken a handful of honors courses at my CC, but when I go to input my academic history in the App, the classes that I can choose from do not have honors noted on them (for example, I took Psych 1 honors, but I can only choose Psych 1 from the list)
I called the help line, and the woman was not too helpful, as she first told me there is a drop down list from which I can note that it is an honors course. I told her that I couldn't find it, and eventually she realized that list did not exist, and ended up saying to report it as an unlisted course. However, that is frustrating because then it contradicts my TAG application, and I'd have to figure it out with the school I TAGed to and make them understand that it I didn't really fill out my TAG app incorrectly....

Have any of you had the same issue? Do you think I should just put in my additional comments which classes are honors??

Nope…no same issue. I agree with the woman - just add it in an unlisted courses. It shouldn’t affect your TAG status. I think you’re overworrying just a tad bit.

AND NO. Don’t put it in the additional comments - just the unlisted course option. The additional comments section is not really for that purpose.

Counselors at my school told us to note in the additional comments section for the coursework on which classes are honors courses. I don’t see why or how that’s wrong.

smltk1505h: Thanks! If counselors are saying that then it is probably safe to trust that.
MAXsays: Yeah. Maybe try calling too and see what they say to you and report back? I may try calling again friday to get a clearer answer.
OCNative: thanks for the advice. I don’t see why putting it in additional comments is wrong, either, though.

Just called the UC help number. First response I got was the same as you got elizabeth, with the drop down list thing. But it’s not there, so he then told me to do it through the unlisted courses. He also told me to make note of it in the additional comments as well.

The only problem I see with this though is if I use the “add another course” option I wonder if it would screw up the computer compiled statistics of how many uc transferable credits I have, which courses fill which categories of IGETC, etc. So I might just say it in the additional info.

yeah… I feel like if their first answer was completely wrong, then I should worry if their second answer is reliable.
I think I am also just going to say it in the additional information section…
