<p>So I'm filling out my UC Application. Under 9th grade courses it lists "English 1 (H)." What does the (H) mean? I took English Honors freshman year, but in the column next to the "English 1 (H)" it's listed as NH (not honors).</p>

<p>If you are at a California high school, check UC Doorways here [University</a> of California Doorways Home](<a href=“http://www.ucop.edu/doorways/]University”>http://www.ucop.edu/doorways/) to see if each of your courses is an actual honors course for UC purposes.</p>
<p>However, grades in 9th grade do not count to your UC admissions GPA (although you still need a C or higher in each course to count it for the a-g subject requirements), so the honors weighting does not matter for courses taken in 9th grade.</p>
