I took Guitar 1 the summer between 10th and 11th grade at a different high school than the one I went to for each school year. I had already taken choir for 2 years so it’s not like I needed the class but it was just something I wanted to pursue. Is there any place i should mention this class? It doesn’t seem to fit in the academic history since it was only a summer at a different school, and it wasn’t required. It is hard to enter it there because I have to add a different school and it thinks I attended the school during the year. I was thinking in additional comments at the end or the “courses other than A-G”?
Should go into the additional courses other than a-g. I’d only mention it if you got an A and/or you feel it would help with your intended major.
I did get A’s and it taught me some music theory that I can use if I audition into the UCI or UCLA musical theater programs. I believe it will show up on my transcript though as I earned some credit for it even if it is just elective credit. But still go for other than a-g?
If the course is not on the a-g list, then yes, you’d want to list it in the other bucket. Many courses taken in HS do not show up in a-g. For example my kid took a Robotics class in HS that was not on the list.
