UC Appeal Question?

I'm trying to send my appeal letter to UCLA this week and wondering if I got accepted, will UCLA automatically send my SIR for me?

Or they will just update my admission profile with SIR available?

I'm worried that if I don't hear anything back from UCLA before May 1, I may have to send my SIR to other UC

If UCLA accept me and automatically submit my SIR for me, it will messed up since I will have two SIR's submitted at the time...

Correction: I mean before June 1 which is the deadline for transfers…

anyone?

go ahead and send in ur SIR for the school you got accepted in and pay 100 dollars. if ucla ended up changing their decision, then contact the other school and they will refund ur 100 dollars.

They won’t refund your money. But they will allow you to take back the SIR

caltouci is right i misread it last time

“You must file the appeal by the campus deadline or within two weeks from the date the decision becomes available. Not all UC campuses will have an answer for your appeal before the June 1 SIR deadline, so be sure to SIR with a backup school in case the appeal doesn’t pan out. There is no penalty for you to withdraw the SIR if you are accepted on appeal somewhere else; the only thing you lose is the $100 deposit.”

So if you get into UCLA by appeal, you still have to submit you SIR to UCLA by yourself right?

so i just got off the phone with UCLA… and they said that i was admitted 100% if i had completed my calc 2 prereq. and im like really, she’s like yeah.

and i said should i appeal, and she’s like, let me give u a realistic perspective; u can appeal, but chances are very low unless u have a really huge reason of not having it done.

so now im kinda scared about appeal as well.

do you know if you finish it by the summer, will they let you in?

Also, from what i understand, UCLA does not guarantee transfer housing to those who were admitted via appeals. So be forewarned.

[Transfer Student Housing Guarantee (1000968)](http://map.ais.ucla.edu/portal/site/UCLA/menuitem.789d0eb6c76e7ef0d66b02ddf848344a/?vgnextoid=7e3303a1c7482010VgnVCM1000008f8443a4RCRD)

Definitely, submit you SIR to your backup school. Go through the appeals process, they will not notify you until three weeks after the receive your appeal. Hope for the best, but be ready to forfeit your $100, if you end up getting in and find your own housing.

Good luck! I heard they are hoping to get the appeals done by June 15th! For Berkeley this year with their freshmen appeals, they did them based on major.

Maybe this is for Berkeley, but if you finish your pre-reqs during the summer, they would allow it. Not sure if it’s the same for UCLA…
