UC Appeals

Yes, I'll let you know..lets hope for the best...

What exactly am I supposed to do now? It's may 1st and I haven't received my appeal decision for UCSD and thats where I really want to go... Even if I was accepted I wouldn't be able to send a SIR on time. I've already sent my SIR to UCD though. What should I do if it turns out I was accepted to UCSD?

ya im in exactly the same positioon as you. I got winter admissions at ucsd. Im calling ucsd on monday to firgure this whole thing out because i already submitted my sir to uci.

theres a winter admissions? hows that work? does that mean you won't b going to school in september but the winter instead?

ya i think il be attending comunity college or something for like the first quarter. Then I get to go to UCSD next quarter. Its so wierd tho. I was originally rejected. I appealed and they dont say i got winter admissions but imply it in my letter. The letter is so negative that Im not even 100 percent sure that im in. It does say "we hope to see you in the winter" at the end and it tells me about utilizing my fall to do com college courses. Im calling them monday to make sure this is all correct.

man i hope i get in like that too. it'd b really really weird... but i don't wanna go to davis.. place looks so depressing lol. MOO!

haha i got davis too and i rejhected it early on. but this thread reaaly does make me regret it kind of. Davis seems to be a really cool kind of atmosphere. Check this thread out.

lol that just made ucsd look all the better. i'm gonna sit in my corner and cry my eyes out now. jk ahhahha

I'm seriously devastated. I was rejected from UCLA n UCSD. (very close to getting in SD). I quickly sent in my SIR to UCI in despair.
The deadline of appeal passed and a week later i was diagnosed with a mental disorder, which is a "good" basis for an appeal.
Although I wrote my personal statement on the disorder, i guess it didn't convince them enough since I wasn't diaganosed back then, and that i heard a bunch of normal people wrote theirs on ADD which they dont' even have, making mine sound like a joke.
Anyway, do you guys think i can beg them to appeal although the deadline has passed. It isn't fair...

lol about the link i showed. look at the secon page. read what goags says.

well i just gave up my spot at ucsd in favor of davis so hopefully one of you guys get it......good luck

lol thanks CAchild3 lets hope i'm in!!! >_<

Um, I'm a transfer student, applying to Berkeley. We were just notified two days ago. The appeals process is not closed; it just opened, and we have till May 15th. And the second choice/JC thing doesn't really apply to me, since I'm transferring from another UC. But thanks for the advice. :)

Hey Blue, didn't you apply to transfer to Berkeley last year as a Senior? Don't you just have more units now?

Yeah... I was transferring from a JC back then, but yes, I did have senior status back then as well. I know, it was a long shot. It's not that I'm not happy being an Anteater, I just really like Cal, and there's one particular major I really want to study that they don't have here.

I see tons of UCB/UCLA/UCSD/UCSB appeals. But where are all the UCI appeals??? :)

people didn't get into UCI? seriously...at my school everyone that applied to UCI got in. sub 1200 sat scores and all.

"I see tons of UCB/UCLA/UCSD/UCSB appeals. But where are all the UCI appeals??? "

What has UCI done to you to make you continually go out of your way to bash it? I don't get it.

UCI, UCSB, and UCD all have very similar admission stats and acceptance rates. Go to the UC website and see for yourself.

what was wrong with "I see tons of UCB/UCLA/UCSD/UCSB appeals. But where are all the UCI appeals???"

what is so offensive????

Are appeals to get into a college you were rejected from easier to get then say having your acceptance rejected because of a D and writting a letter explaining your situation and hoping to get in?
