UC Application 2012 Thread

dizzle, i got that from desperately browsing the web to find ways to find my acceptance early.

oreos can you explain how you know about ucla x freshmen?

So I’m on the quarter system, and they just put our spring schedule up. I was going to take gender psych as an elective (not a prereq for any school or an IGETC req) but it’s not going to be offered. I will probably end up registering for social psych instead. Do I just go update the UC app website when I register? I don’t need to update myBerkeley specifically, right? Both classes are 4 units, so my unit count will remain the same.

Oh ok, lol. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t try that too.

I just checked with my little brother, he transferred to UCLA last Fall. Yeah,j ust sit back and wait.

@newsoul

Yes, you should update your TAU with your new class and that should automatically be sent to Berkeley’s supplemental. They say it’s not a guarantee that they will receive the new info, but might as well try.

When the school requests for a transcript from Advance Placement… is it possible to send them my HS transcript as it should be noted there? Or how do I even get those? Especially when I took the thing 3-4 years ago and am not aware of the whereabouts of the records…

I’m not too sure but I didn’t need to do anything like that. I don’t have anything good to show from high school, lol. I know last year my brother was calling his high school for some info before transferring to UCLA though. I think it was regarding getting credit for having taken AP/IB classes. You’ll have to verify it if you get accepted though(like my brother did). I don’t remember if he specifically got the info from his high school, but they should be able to point you in the right direction?

@iwillflyby If you have the hard copy of your AP scores that CollegeBoard mailed you, there should be an AP Score Report Request form with it. If not, then you can call AP Automated Score Reporting Services @ 888-308-0013 (toll free in the U.S. and Canada) or 609-771-7366. They’re available 24/7 and are payable by credit card only.

@ayymeer I don’t think it’s toll free. Isn’t it $8 per call and then $25 per copy.

@iwillflyby I’m not too sure how much it is to do over the phone because I send scores through mail. It’s only $15 per college through mail.

Oh so they do do mail. I don’t know why HS transcripts won’t do when they are noted there. It’s just such a waste of money, yaknow. Oh well.

Did anyone receive news from CSUN, UCLA and UCI yet?

twenty days after today.

@UCKitty What’s that time for…?

irvine decisions start march 1st

^ Nice. With my luck I’ll probably be in the last few batches in April or something -_-. I hate all the people who applied to csu’s and have already gotten decisions back. I should have taken speech lol.

19 after today.

I just got an e-mail from SD asking for more information about a gap in my educational history (a gap that doesn’t even exist according to my UC App, which I had to explain). I think this means that they are already evaluating applications - at least, TAG applicants - at UCSD.

I got a letter in the mail today that said I made the deans list for fall semester. It also said I should join the honors program. but since this is my last semester and im transferring this fall, maybe even summer, I shouldn’t join it right? what do you guys think?

Well, if it’s free and doesn’t take up a lot of your time, why not?

^ true. I guess i’ll do it(:
