You’re a psych major. If Calc II is not required for your major then drop it immediately and take the W unless you are sure you can get a B or higher without sacrificing your GPA/grades in other classes. You already have a UC xferable math done, IGETC will be done, and 60 units will be done. Take Calc II at Irvine.

Here’s what it says for Psych:

Transfer applicants with the highest grades overall and who satisfactorily complete course prerequisites will be given preference for admission to the major.

READ: HIGHEST GRADES OVERALL.

Here are your course pre-reqs:

One year of psychology fundamentals which covers the topics of physiological psychology, sensory perceptions, social psychology, and personality theory
One additional psychology course
Two introductory courses in anthropology, economics, linguistics, political science, or sociology

There is nothing about Calc II in there.

Drop the damn course.

DO NOT TAKE A C.

I hope you signed a TAG. Also, if you drop Calc II, just explain it in your additional notes in the UC app by saying the course load was too heavy. GPA is most important. There is no use is bringing down your GPA for nothing. Seriously.

Agree with asphyxiac. Sometimes you need to play it safe
But I just wonder if you want to go to grad school or not ruofei. I don’t see “a lot” of employment opportunities with just a BA/BS in psych. If you want to go to grad school, be careful that a W may count as an F. If I were you, I would stick with the class for another month or so and see how things turned out. You paid the money - make it worth it lol. Drop it now or drop it before “the last day to drop with a W” still results in a W. Maybe you are like me - someone who found the techniques of integration difficult but series are cake lol. If by mid November and you still not sure you can get at least a B, DROP it.

Thanks for all the replies…yeah I will stick with it until the last week drop with a w…it’s just like what you said…actually I’m almost sure I won’t go to graduate school…and do u guys have any information like is it psychology major in uc hard to get in?ususally around what gpa to get it

^ You only submit transcript once you SIR next June kitty… and by “submit” I mean spend $5 - $10 to have the admission&records office at your CC send it to the UC you SIRed to :)

Yeah, I’m not sure too. I have 3 tests in the same week, and Sat 10/15 is actually my birthday lol. So might not go. Depend on the weather, I guess :)

This question has probably been answered before but can you submit different personal statrments to different UCs/ Majors? Or do they only take one for all UCs?

Hey guys, when we submit our UC apps, how does the UC we tagged to know that we Tagged? like I know my name is the same as the one i put in my uc app, but what if some guy has my same name? how do they know it’s me? do they take bday and all that into consideration to know who’s tag is who etc? weird question that just popped up. thanks

I have an urgent questions!*
I accidentally submitted the wrong income for my Cal-State fee waiver! To try to fix this, I went to the Cal-State administration office and explained my situation. The person there responded by telling me to submit my application regardless to obtain an ID number (?) Then they would be able to change my income number? I’m not sure if he meant to send all my applications in. Is this a serious problem, or can it easily be fixed?

hi CC’ers, I just submitted my application and just realized that I forgot to put in my CA student ID. Using google, I’ve read one person say that it was optional? But that if you went to HS in california that you needed to put it. I did, so what should I do? Does anyone know? If not, I can just contact the UC’s, I guess.
