UC Application 2012 Thread

@ Draco, I didn’t put mine either, my counselor said it’s only optional. Don’t worry about it.

Hey everyone, I put down my dad’s current occupation but for his previous occupation, I just left it blank. Do I really need to put down what he did before? My mom is currently unemployed so I just put her down as unemployed…do I also need to put down what she did before as well?

Thanks @MovingUnit.
Haha, I just asked my parents about their occupation info today. My dad told me not to put in his previous job, but I think his previous job wasn’t a career job, and he’s been at his current job for 18 years now.
I don’t think it would hurt to put down your mom’s previous job, but I’m not sure. I’ll let the other CC’ers answer that one for you.

What do I put if my parents had the same career for their entire life?
Does it matter if they worked somewhere else, but the same job?

Concerning my question on post #78, should I submit all my Cal-State apps even though it shows a different income for the fee wavier and the actual information? I don’t want to get in trouble by all the schools that I apply too… and I don’t want to be fined or anything :x

I feel like I’m going to miss something!
how do you find out your Cali student id?
and for financial aid thru fasfa, you apply in January like normal? am I forgetting something?

How long does the UC app take if you are finished with your essays? Also, did anyone fill out the income form for 2010-2011? I’m pretty sure you can’t.

@ hm5933.

You can find your california student ID on your high school transcripts but this is optional on the application.

And yes financial aid is during the filing period in the beginning of 2012.

Does anyone know if the UC system is already starting to lag (as in there are already too many applicants submitting?) The CSU is not loading, and all I need to do is press submit-I’m on the last step! But its not loading so I’m freakin out.

^ I’m in the application now and there is no lag. We should be okay until next weekend.

Is it necessary to put dean’s list/dean’s honor in any of the awards/activity section of the app? If so, in which section?

how come it’s asking for my parents tax return info for 2011? they haven’t even done that yet so should I just put their income was the same as last years?

wheeeeee, Just finished my Personal statement 2 hours ago,and submitted right away.
BUT I FORGOT TO PRINT THE RECEIPT… WHAT WILL HAPPEN? I DID SCREENSHOT THE PAGE.

print the screenshot if you need to. but you dont really need to print it anyway. i didnt

Submitted my application last night. My goal was to have it in before Thanksgiving break. Yeah! I am TAG approved to Davis so I know it was just a formality but I am glad to have it done!!!

Does anyone know if my TAG can be revoked if I take the upcoming spring off? I will have over 60 units completed, finished pre-reqs, and igetc certified anyway. i stated that i will be working instead to save up money for school. any ideas?

thanks a lot

Quick Q: Does anyone know how the schools verify whether I’ve completed my foreign language requirements? I took four years of Spanish in high school, and I don’t recall seeing anything on the app having to do with that . . . nor for IGETC.

Thanks.

Briceies, transcripts (as far as I know). The IGETC page on ASSIST asks for:

How vague can they be right? It doesn’t even say you have to pass the classes. If you took and passed 4 years of Spanish, you’ll probably just have to send them your high school transcripts. Another keyword is equivalent. I don’t remember if I passed 4 semesters of Spanish in high school, but my proficiency in Spanish is far more than the equivalence they’re asking for.

Just submitted the applications. Still worried for some reason. ):

Good luck to everyone else!

^ How long did it take you?

Well I had the application done weeks ago, it was just the personal statements that kept me from submitting.

How long did the application itself take though? For some reason I have been holding off on it. I am done with my statements though.
