The UC website says that the deadline is 11:59pm on November 30.

However, is this 11:59pm according to California time (PST), or according to whatever time zone the applicant is in?

I'm asking this because I'm an international applicant from Australia, so it makes a significant difference. (11:59pm California time is 6:59pm the next day in Australia)

Thanks! I would really appreciate if anyone could help me out. :)

Sorry, I don’t know the answer, but I had to respond because the question made me laugh. My son asked the same exact question and of course as a parent my answer was “why are you planning to submit at the last minute? Get it done today!”

I bet it is local Cali time, but I don’t know for sure. I do know that the system gets bogged down every year near the deadline, so please be careful…

log in to your app; it is right there at the top…

"Do not send transcripts or letters of recommendation unless specifically requested by a campus.

IMPORTANT Please carefully review all your COURSES, GRADES, and PERSONAL STATEMENT for accuracy before beginning the submission process.

If you started your application prior to 11:59pm PST, November 30, you will have until 11:59pm PST on December 1 to complete the submission of your application for fall 2015 admissions."

Emphasis mine…

I assume everyone sees the same thing when they log in…

@YZamyatin I see this too, but before logging in it says something like, “tick tock applications are due November 30th.” Can anyone confirm that the extension is not just an error?

No chance you’ll get clarification from the school on a Sunday evening (good luck getting a human on the phone Monday-Friday for that matter). I think you need to take the announcement at face value.

With that said though, when my son showed me the announcement I told him not to even dream of taking an extra day. He is all submitted for better or worse.

The announcement says: “Please carefully review all your COURSES, GRADES, and PERSONAL STATEMENT for accuracy before beginning the submission process”. I’m assuming that this means you can’t edit after you’ve submitted.
