I accidentally reported that I received a grade of an A for both semesters of Honors Pre-Calculus (HL) for my 11th grade coursework. I had actually received a "C" for both semesters, but took a Pre-Calculus course at a local community college and received an "A" the following summer. The two blanks were right next to each other; in retrospect, I believe that I accidentally reported my commnity college "A" grade onto the online slot for Honors Pre-Calculus, as they were listed right next to each other.

I sent an email, fax, and wrote letters to all the UC campuses I applied to regarding this error. I also gave them a contact number to my guidance counselor, who I notified as welll. Though I had checked my application before I had sent it, the mistake never occurred to me until now, when I referred back to my UC application for some SAT I score information.

Does anyone have an experience making that kind of mistake on their application? I'm so afraid that my admissions will be denied because of a typo error.

Wish I could say that I know this for a fact, but at least it is a reasonable opinion...I believe that you made every effort to correct the mistake and cannot imagine that this will lead to a denial of admission. I am sure that the letters made it to your file and the correction will be made. You could try calling to verify. I have heard that UC admissions office is very helpful.

Good point for all - get the name of the person you spoke to so that there is some form of recourse should someone think they have "caught" you - when in fact you were very honest about the matter.

When I did my UC TAG application I did not include my non-transferable courses (remedial). I talked to my community college counselor, she told me that I can accurately report everything on the actual UC application. When submitted my UC application last Friday, I included both transferable and non-transferable courses. Am I in trouble here? What do i do?

The UCs don’t look at your transcript unless you get admitted. IF you get admitted, get on the phone immediately and retrace the steps you took to correct your error. Make sure you have an email trail, names and dates of people you spoke with. You should be okay…

Please note that this is a 6 year old thread, initiated by purplerain in 2004. It appears that purplerain was admitted to and matriculated at UCLA, because his last post was in September of 2005 asking where a scheduled meeting for new students at UCLA would take place.
