<p>Why do the UC's application want tax information for the year 2011 if aid is going to be based on the Fafsa information we turn in March 2 (for cal grants) and later for federal aid?</p>
<p>The reason I ask is because my fiancee and I plan on getting married this coming January and we're worrying about how we're going to afford going to a UC campus (considering our combined income for 2011 is only around 15k). </p>
<p>Will we still be eligible for the blue and gold grants the UC's have to offer even though for the year of 2011 we were dependents of our parents? Is it purely based on the FAFSA we send in during march, and the UC application is nothing but a gauge of what type of students they are letting into their campus? We are both CCC students and plan on transferring to UCLA for Fall 2012.</p>
