I am applying to UCSD, why do i need to rank 7 colleges? what is this for? how to rank these 7 colleges, i am majoring in English
Each of the seven colleges has its own theme, general education requirements, traditions, and student body. Focus on the general education requirements because that directly affects the number and the type of courses you have to complete at UCSD. Also see which college will offer you more AP/IB credit toward your GE requirements. Each college has students with a variety of majors so there is no one college for an English major.

Also there is no guarantee you will get into your top choice college but you are still required to rank them. Muir College is known to have the most flexible GE requirements.
