Is the third PS as important as the first two? I mean, if you want to explain something in the third PS, do you simply straight-out tell them or write a literary essay like the first two?

do NOT write ANYTHING negative about yourself unless you have something BETTER that comes out of the negativity. don't say anything you think they might not like, even if it's honest and makes complete sense

you should probably write it essay-like

If I recall correctly, that's the part that asks if you have anything else to add to your 1000-word personal statement? If so, you can that part blank. You can use it to explain a bad grade, inconsistency in your transcript/grades, etc. that you couldn't address elsewhere. But as for bad grades, don't tell them "oops I slacked off that semester, but now I'm hard-working again." I recall writing two sentences that stated that I was heavily involved in music beyond what I could convey in the rest of the application and that I wanted very strongly to be in the marching band at UCLA. I thought it might help me (who knows, I got in!). Again, this section as I recall is optional. Be formal but don't write more than necessary, if anything at all.

thank you for your help
