I am filling out the UC app, and I was wondering if it is a good idea to fill out the family data section, even though it is voluntary?

I am debating this too

Anybody have any response for this? I think a lot of people are wondering the same thing...

bump, i'm wondering too.........

bump bump bump

don't fill it out if youre rich ???
i dunno ....

just passing by.. =.=

???????????

Does anybody have an informed opinion/insight??????????????

My parents make pretty good money and are highly educated.... will this work against me?

well, my son did not fill it out when applying. my guess (not an informed opinion) is that it is only of help in cases where your parents do not have a college education or other such circumstances

That is why I was thinking about not filling it out...my family is pretty well-off.

Come application time and everyone wants to be poor. If your family has money, there's really no need to try and hide the fact that you're rich. The fact that you did not request financial aid would give it away. Or if you did, they see your income anyways.
