Hello I will be applying to UCI for Fall 2017 and I have a dilemma. Fall 2016 my first year at irvine valley college I took precalculus and received an F in the class but that was my only F and from there I have received all A’s and B’s. After this semester I will be able to apply for academic renewal and that should help my GPA. Here’s my question, will I be able to put AR as the grade received on my application now since I am going to apply for it at the end of this semester and by then UCs will have asked us for updated grades on the application and for us to send our official transcripts in? I would rather put AR now instead of an F just to make my application look better but I am not sure if i have to wait AND then put AR when we are able to update grades again? Thank you
No, don’t do that because the transcript notes the date. But add it to additional comments that it is forthcoming.

@HopefulAnteater1 just say something like class x is set for academic renewal in January 2017, something like that - then reiterate it in the TAU. Although I guess if it really IS coming right after the fall semester is over you can put in AR. You just don’t want months apart between grade and AR. Perhaps you should call the UC and ask to be sure…
