UC Application Questions Post Here

Got questions about the UC applications? Post here.

In the academic reporting section, how do I enter my grades if my school doesn't have plus minus grading? Should I just put the regular A B C D?

well what else could u do lol thats basically ur only option

I could change all the A's into A+'s

hahahhahahah. Im going to try that, maybe. Ok, now i wont.

hah....yeah u'd get into BIG trouble for that if it didn't match the transcript

On the first page, what is the california statewide student id number? that's optional right?

Hrm. Actually the instructions say to report the grades exactly as it appears on the transcript, so I guess i'm going to keep it as A B C D formatting and pray it's right.

well if u have a lot of A- and a lot of B- then its good....if u have a lot of A+ and B+ then thats annoying..but either way u probably have a good amount of both so it doesn't really matter..just copy it from ur transcript exactly..

i dont know what to do becase we dont do + or - at our school. i hope they dont calculate my GPA wrong.

if i failed ap tests in high school..do i still need to report em?

what is the difference between "semester" and "semester with winter session"?

I have a question, I was adding my grades and classes onto the online application and only some classes had the sign "CCC transferable" at the side of it. Why is that? Shouldn't they all be CCC transferable? Even like English 101 didn't have the CCC transferable sign next to it.

I think the admissions officers are capable of averaging our your gpa according to your school's grading scale. As far as I know, most CCCs only have the A B C D F system.

In response to Yams: Many classes aren't UC transferrable. For PCC, classes in the 100's aren't transferrable, however there are some classes below 100 that are not transferrable either. It should say in the course description whether or not it's transferrable.

A school on the semester system only has fall and spring semesters whereas a school on the system with winter intercession system has a one month long (typically) winter intercession interspersed between the two semesters.

But I know all my classes are transferable, it even says so in the school catalogue. Now why won't they even have the CCC transferable sign to classes like English 101, and 102? Those clearly have to be 100% transferable. Odd.

That's a bad sign...which community college are you attending Yams?

Glendale Community College.

Does anyone else know what is up with this??

I don't get the dilemma...can you clarify?

In the UC academic reporting section, the section where you put in the class name, section number, amt. of credits, etc., has a new feature where it automatically detects if the classes is UC transferrable or not. If it's UC transferrable, the "CCC transferrable" text will appear next to the class.
