UC Application: "What language did you learn to speak first?"

Hi everyone,

I’m not sure what I’m supposed to select for this question on the application. They give me three choices:

  1. English only
  2. English and another language
  3. Other language

I’ve forgotten how to speak my native language and I didn’t start learning English until I was like in second grade. Is it okay if I choose the second option?

I would pick 3 based on what you described, but I don’t think it will really matter either way.

I don’t think they should ask all these questions. It is truly intrusive. A college does not need to know your whole life. We indulge them in our desperation.
