UC Application

Is it possible to apply to the UC's for fall of 2007, then based on where you get in re-apply for winter quarter 2007 (for all except berkeley)? I'm wondering this because my gpa isn't stellar (3.0) and I wanna go to UCLA. I'm questioning if I should apply for fall of 2007 and only get a semester of CCC in, or if I should apply for winter of 2007 and get my last full year of CCC in and retake a class I got a D in (which, without it, my gpa is a 3.3). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

im in the exact same situation as you. im currently retaking a class that i failed my first semester which will have a significant impact on my grade.
just write in your personal statement that your grades have been improving, that should help. plus ive heard that they dont look at your grades until the spring when they are making decisions, but i dont know how legit that is.

For the most part, they make their decisions after receiving your Fall grades. But, in some cases that may apply to you guys, they review decide after Spring grades are in.

I'm not sure if by fall of 2007, I should transfer to UCI, which is a pretty sure bet, or take an extra semester and finish second semester of organic chem and second semester of calculus so that I can apply to UCLA and Cal. Uggh. I'm not sure if its worth risking/wasting a semester to do that when I might not even get into UCLA or Cal. Any suggestions?

UCLA does not accept winter transfers unless you're in engineering.
