I am applying to 2 UC schools from out of state. On the application, it says I cannot put down honors for 9th grade, because they do not count as honors there. What am I supposed to put? Am I supposed to lie & say I did not take honors classes when I did? How is this fair, to not recieve credit for classes I took? Also, for 10 grade courses it says that for certain classes you can' put honors. Again, why is this, and what do I put instead? I don't get it, do they want me to lie to them? Oh and why don't the University of California schools just let me send my transcript? That is so much eaiser, I just do not undertsand. Is there any way AT ALL to just do that instead? I am out of state & this all seems very stupid & confusing to me (and like WAY to much extra work). Any advice/knowledge on any of this or anything else I need to know about applying to UC schools would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

im in ur boat, the uc app process just sucks a lot, it kinda confusing, and there ar way too many technicalities. y cant we send in a rec frm our teachers and counselor, seriously?

I believe that all the UCs mean is that your 9th grade honors courses will not count as UC-designated Honors courses. Notice that the application does not have any place to put a notation in the "UC-approved Honors Course Status" box for 9th grade when you're filling out your classes.

Just put in all your classes taken for 9th grade.
