I'm not sure how I should approach the EC section of the UC app.
Under the name of each activity, it was a box labeled "description". Is it okay if i just list my positions in the box?
Or do they expect us to elaborate on each EC? Can I leave them blank?

Is this all they're looking for?
example:
Activity: Model UN
Description: Co-pres, head delegate

I think that some of the UC admission offices offer weekly, or periodic, on-line chats about the application process. It doesn’t have to be a campus you’re applying to, since they all use the same application. UCSB had a number of them last year, I know. Your example looks satisfactory. Incidentally, my son held a similar position. I’d say you should keep it simple, but that’s just an uninformed opinion. Good accomplishments need little elaboration. Think Nobel Peace Prize Laureate or Olympic Gold Medalist. As people have pointed out, the best titles are the simplest: President, King, Pope. I know that the UC application is frustrating, because there are no counselor or teacher recommendations allowed, and those are where most students hope to have their personal abilities showcased. There’s no harm or shame in reaching out to an admissions office. I highly recommend signing up for one or more of their webinars.
