Alright, I'm new here, so don't be jerks please. I'm a junior in high school, and am thinking about college stuff. Long story short, my gpa is horrible. I will end up with about a 2.7 by the end of junior year. It'd be higher if I had that first semester of Senior year, but that's not an option. Can I still apply to a UC, or do they throw my application away once they see the gpa? I really don't have an excuse for the bad gpa, except that I didn't really realize the importance of school until late in the game and was more concerned with other things like being accepted by my peers and making friends with people (all that high school crap), which I was failing at as well. I don't have any AP classes or honors, but I do have a 4.0 right now (it's second semester of junior year). There is an upward trend in my grades.

As I typed all of that, I now kind of have an idea of what response I'm going to get here from you guys. I really don't mean to sound so sorry for myself, it's just this whole thing has got me stressed. But please, just be cool. Nothing feels more gut-wrenching than realizing that you've failed and that it's probably too late, and the last thing I need is being berated for asking this stupid question. Is there ANY chance for me for a UC?
