UC Berkeley 2011-2012 Housing Offers

Ah ok thanks. Well…hope I make friends outside of that grp of freshman on my floor haha.

At first I got nothing, so I was :frowning:

Then I got an email this morning with my “pre-offer” to a Channing-Bowditch double, so now I’m :)

is stern the all girls dorm? a single is super awesome, but you just need to work a lil bit harder to make friends (i would think) because you dont have that automatic roomie friend.

@redo: Yeah, Stern is only for girls… A single does have advantages as well as disadvantages, I guess. I wonder how I got the single though, I thought they were super hard to get (maybe not in Stern?) and it wasn’t even one of my preferences. Weird.

haha i briefly contemplated putting a stern single down…for like a nanosecond until i realized that it would be all girls, all the time. when’s your move in date?! looks like mine is 8/21! and have you accepted your offer yet or are you thinking about appealing?

redo, do you have fb? wanna be friends? same with you deanzatransfer lol

Where does it say when your move in date is? I haven’t accepted my offer yet, but I probably will. If I get an offer from the I house by Thursday (which probably won’t happen because I just applied a day ago) I might also consider going there.

I believe we’re allowed to have guys over in Stern :). They just need to be “chaperoned” by girls at all times, lol.

boys over would be especially amazing since you have a single! hello silver lining
and those dates they say we have the rooms until is what i assumed would be the move in/move out dates…could be wrong though

WHY YES i would love to be your friend investment, watch out for my PM

@Investment: PM me!
@redo: Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I like what I got! I wish housing were out before I went to CalSO. I would have gone up to Stern to take a look at it. Oh well, now I have a good reason to BART up to Berkeley next week :). I love the campus so much already!

My application says: “Effective date - 8/21/2011-5/12/2012.” It must be the move in and move out dates.

Wada double. I’m really not looking forward to living in the middle of swarms of freshman. Yes it’s a transfer apartment, but we’ll be the minority in the unit.

I’m kind of hung up on the dorm issue. I never get a straight answer when I ask whether or not it’s typical for transfers to dorm, and I hate feeling like the odd one out. Or like it will be lame being one of the only 21-year-olds living with kids fresh out of high school.

Ugh.

Yeah I’m not sure how the dorming thing is going to work out either. But at least Wada is its own building with upper division kids so it’s not you’re going to be interacting with everyone in all of the buildings of the Unit.

I would have liked to be placed in Wada. I’m 26 and going to be in a Unit 2 triple (not Wada). It really doen’t bother me if I get stuck with younger people since people at my CC were pretty young themselves (18-21) and I got along with them just fine.
