[]Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): None[/ul]

Reflection[ul]

[]Strengths: GPA was extremely strong. Essays while not the best, were still solid and should have been enough to get me in. Father was a UCLA Alumni
[]Weaknesses: Lack of Extra Cirriculars. I called UCLA Admissions and they told me that they will never deny a transfer student admission solely because of extra cirriculars.
[li]Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I haven’t the slightest idea why I was denied admission. The only thing I can think of is the extra cirriculars, but they told me that ECs dont matter. I have been calling the school and sending emails like crazy trying to get a firm reason. Will definitely appeal.[/ul]
[/li]

General Comments: I thought I was in for sure. I remember thinking back in December after getting straight A’s my last semester that I was already in. I didn’t even think I would be surprised when I was accepted. My counselor told me “If you don’t get in, no one will.” No idea why the possibly could have denied me. I have made a post on this website about my situation, asking others if they can think of a reason why I was not accepted. This thread also has a link to my transcript. I will update the thread as I continue to gain new information. Thread is here: 3.98 GPA CC Student Not Accepted To UC Berkeley or UCLA

Hi ktklam9, if you don’t mind me asking, how did you become a developer? Did you just apply and get in? What credentials are needed? I want a solid programming work experience as well.

I also have a 4.0 GPA and I’m done with all the core required courses. I’m still taking some strongly recommended courses next fall semester. I started a thread here:
