Where do you check your financial aid package??
@lovelyyliz The package supposedly comes out on May 1st!
@andtherewaslight Check your portal where you got the acceptance letter.
@rootcause Thanks! I was freaking out thinking that I hadn’t received one by accident.
@jonathaanv Hello, I would like to apply the same major which is UCLA Business Economics in this year. May you share your experiences or your extracurricular ? Thank you !
I thought financial aid packages were out online already but the system is down. That’s what the email said yesterday
Just SIR’ed to Berkeley!
Go Bears!!! @lovelyyliz
To the EECS majors with a 4.0: your are brilliant. If you’re rejected just know you will always be more qualified than any -ology major. Anyone can take those bs classes STEM is difficult and competitive. That is why you are better just know that
@rootcause thanks
Anyone have knowledge or experience of transferring to Cal for spring 2018
What are our options?
Does this postpone our graduation? Does it limit financial aid?
If you’re on the waitlist you may be admitted to Spring 2018. It’s for overflow of students so I don’t think it is general to apply separately to it.
No financial aid update for me either. Would it be under “My Finances” when they put it up on CalNet?
.
I was accepted for Spring 2018 – Just not sure of how that exactly works
Hi all,
I’ve been lurking through this thread for a few weeks now and was always skeptical to post anything because I did not want to jinx my chances at Cal. Nevertheless, I have decided to come out of my shell and congratulate all of you for the hard work despite whether you were accepted or rejected.
To the amazing students who unfortunately did not get into Cal do not feel any shame. You beautiful people have made it big thus far and I am confident you’ll continue to do so wherever you go–plus a lot of you got into UCLA so no complaining! (I got waitlisted ).
Moving on, I have not seen a lot-- as expected-- political science majors on this thread; therefore, to the few that I know are here I would like to get to know you and start the beginning of great friendships. Even if you are not a poli sci major I still love you and would like to make friendships with all of you wonderful people. Yet just remember that I am poli sci major, thus if you’re CS or anything outside of L&S you’ll get annoyed with me haha.
Again, congratulations to all of you and hope to meet the majority of you soon.
Bisous!
@CalPlease Come join us on the Facebook thread! We have a few poli sci majors so far I think. Also we started an excel sheet to help people maybe help find some roommates, if you’re interested.
UC Berkeley Transfer Class of 2019
Decision: Waitlisted
Major: Social Welfare
Overall GPA: 3.63
Major GPA: 3.80
IGETC: Complete
Major Prereqs: Complete by end of Spring 2017
ECs: Work 25+ hrs/week; volunteer at my church (~4 hrs/week for 6 years); elementary school tutor; founded an after-school mentoring/tutoring program
Considering that I was expecting a blunt rejection, I am grateful to have been placed on UCB’s waitlist. It’s difficult to find reliable statistics for last year’s waitlist, so I am definitely anxious about my chances of getting admitted. However, all I can - and plan to - do is write a great opt-in essay and have faith that everything will happen for the best.
For those who were admitted, congratulations!
@mellieator I will thank you!
@lawrence88 Wow, I don’t usually respond to troll and malevolent comments, but looking at your post history, you seem to be mad because you got waitlisted at CAL. Why attack other majors and make a comical and blanketed statement about one major being better than the other? I guess that just shows your level of maturity that thankfully CAL won’t have to deal with.
Good day!
Planning to SIR to Berkeley tomorrow! Hopefully the Financial Aid Package dilemma has been sorted out by then :[
