UC Berkeley 2017 Transfer Thread

@Allpassguy I have no idea, but everytime some says something about it my stomach’s been clenching up a little. I think I’m going to start brushing up on the appeal process just to be safe.

Historic decision release times:

2016 3:30
2015 4:45
2014 3:00
2013 2:00
2012 4:30

@Orangered123 Hi, I made the account. I said I was an applicant who had not been informed about the decision yet, and applied with the same email address. Here is the notification thing you were talking about. You don’t have this? http:// imgur. com/ 8i3lcJ6

@lexluther96 I do not have that on my cal central. :frowning: I’ve got the other notifications dated March 21st when I first made a CalCentral account. If I was to put money on it, I would think that it’s indicative of admission since I do not have it nor do a couple other people have that notification. If they only gave that to a couple of people then I think it might have been a mistake in sending those out early or something. Preparing for the worst tomorrow.

It doesn’t help that I have a math midterm in a few hours. Still got to hold out hope though. Just in case that it’s not anything significant.

@lexluther96 @Orangered123 , yea I don’t see that either.

Hey guys, I just found out I actually have two of my pre-requisites done in Winter quarter, which I did not have to report.
However, I got A+ and A for that two courses, if I don’t get in tmr, is it worth appealing?
I’m so nervous for tmr!!! (gpa 3.86 for media studies major)

5pm tomorrow can’t come soon enough. The only question is whether or not I will be able to hold myself back from checking at work…

@lexluther96 Mine says same as yours, but I have a health insurance notification maybe because I am an international studnent.

I haven’t seen anyone applying as a theatre major on this thread… Does anyone know if Berkeley’s theatre is as competitive as the other majors?

@teegsrose 35% admit rate…you can use this site to compare it to other UC’s

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

I have the health insurance notification but not the admit weekend @Allpassguy

@UCLAorUCBTRNSFR are you also international?

@Orangered123 I’m not sure, I did immigrate here but a while back and I went to high school in California. So maybe I count as international?

@Orangered123 I go to ccc btw

Hi guys so I think I made a mistake. Please tell me if I have any options

So I applied to Berkeley as a EECS major for the college of engineering.

At the time, I did not want to get a B.A. in CS in the letters and science, so I choose nothing as my alternative major.

But, I realize now I wish I had applied for a B.A. in CS so that I could get into the L&S as undeclared.

If I am denied to the college of engineering, is there absolutely nothing I can do to get in as undeclared? I am sure that if I had applied for L&S as my second major that I would be almost guaranteed admission.

Am I royally screwed this year?

To be honest l&s cs isn’t that much easier, the acceptance rate is actually lower. And at this point there is nothing you can do unfortunately, but there is no harm in contacting them. @fatalis

I made an account as well about 2 hours ago and I don’t have the “new admits tour” notification either :frowning: this is making me really scared

Lol my mailing address just doubled again in MAP

@Orangered123 , at this point I’m thinking that not seeing that is a rejection especially after the my UCLA trick was accurate. My major has a 7% acceptance rate and my gpa is barely within the range, and I’m not from a CCC so it makes sense I wouldn’t get in. Hopefully I’m wrong though.

Well, plenty of people get into L&S as undeclared. But getting to CS you have to have a 3.3 gpa in 3 courses at berkeley. It is quite easy to get into that.
