Oh wow, I guess we do have some hope left. I’ve been waiting all day for the rejection letter. Would it be a bad idea to send a short e-mail displaying one’s interest into Berkeley? Because I would SIR immediately, honestly, and I kind of want them to know that, but since they explicitly say that they don’t consider anything sent in, then is it worth it? Will it harm me?
@sebsarion I think they have mixed feelings about it.
I was waitlisted also at Wesleyan and emailed them both with a short message expressing how I would be more than happy to attend if I was accepted and that I would send in an appeal.
Wesleyan thanked me, UCB never replied.
As you can see Wesleyan didn’t accept me (obviously.)
@sebsarion Not a good idea. Even my counselor sent them an email saying I was the top kid in the class, but no reply to both of us. No response even to a simple question.
Check your UCB portal, for some of us … the decisions (rejection) have been posted as an update, without any additional e-mail notification.
Yeah just checked and I got the rejection letter. Oh well, Berkeley, maybe I’ll apply to transfer. But for now, I’m NYU bound
