@qwertyemily Same my math 2 score was so low the first time I took it
Received LOR request sometime during Thanksgiving (dont remember exactly when). I was wondering- how many people got those requests (percentage, top/borderline/bottom applicants?), and what does it mean about my prospects??
Just for context- >99th percentile SAT I, but really mediocre UC gpa.
Im really stressing over this because UCB is one of my top choices. Thank you!!
It appears those with high SAT/ACT scores but lower GPA are getting LOR requests.
Aren’t LOR requests done by random sampling?
Supposed to be random and people are trying to figure out if it’s truly random. So far it appears those with very high test scores (like 35 or 36 ACT) but few Bs are getting the requests
I have fairly high test scores (35 ACT) but a low UC GPA and got a LOR request. I’m trying not to read to much into this, but am hoping it helps my application!
I still haven’t received a link to the admissions portal. I got a confirmation email from UC but not Berkeley specifically. Should I email them? I submitted my app on 11/29
I would continue to wait patiently for an email with link to the UCB application status.
@srk2017 @CheekyNandos what do you think of my stats? i have 2310 SAT, 4.05 capped UC GPA (i know, low because i took several AP’s and got a few B’s), and 4.54 uncapped UC GPA. nothing yet. do you think they have disregarded me as incompetent already?
i took 10 APs total in 10-11 grade, and will have 16 by the time i graduate. all 4s and 5s except one 3.
@danklord Whats your UC GPA like?
What’s a UC GPA and how do you calculate it?
@poa34355 I think if anything they wouldn’t need to see LOR from you because of those stats. Your GPA is higher than mine and we have the same test scores. I wouldn’t read into LOR requests much, it seemed last year they were sent out fairly randomly.
@CheekyNandos haha yea i meant to say 2310 sat but same thing basically. i hope youre right, id love to get into cal! what major did you choose?
@poa34355 - Sorry I have no experience with UC admissions. It appears you have rigorous curriculum and good SAT score. Since UCB is holistic, it may come down to your essays and ECs.
@poa34355 I’m applying as a philosophy major.
@srk2017 Ok thanks!
@CheekyNandos nice! best of luck to you
@Clareesi check out this link – but I think you put in only your 10 + 11th grade classes if what I’ve heard is correct
https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
@catsrock17 is right–the UCs only look at 10th and 11th grade when calculating GPA, but I’m pretty sure they’ll still at least glance over the classes you took and grades you’ve gotten in freshman year and senior year, too!
@catsrock17 thanks bruh
@Clareesi np bruh
