No, ROHP is just one of the special programs the regent scholarship invitation comes with. It has nothing to do with getting the actual scholarship. It’s just supposed to let you experience the school and convince you to commit to Cal
@dewrrrett - Overnight stay program is an optional one and it’s not clearly mentioned in the letter. After another parent mentioned it, I looked for it and registered my son for it. Luckily his interview is also on Saturday.
@CheckMate123 I asked them via email and this is the response. You would think they would send it out on their own!
Accepted early for Biochem in state w/ Regents Interview Request, forgot to post until now.
1420 SAT, 1450 super scored, which I don’t think matters
4.50 WGPA
3.93 UW
770 Math II, 740 Bio, 720 US History
@hfjdnjdfvj I apply for biochem as well, I understand that your ec and essay are very strong.
@Pam07 yes, spent a ton of time of essays and i think that really paid off. also, have had a job, volunteered 150 plus hours, and have a few leadership roles, including a varsity sport. Still very surprised to hear back early though, not going to complain though.
Hello,
I got Regents and Campus Honors for UC Irvine. I applied to Computer Science in the College of Engineering for UC Irvine. Does this mean that I will likely be accepted for UC Berkeley’s Letter’s and Science? My dream school is Berkeley, not Irvine.
Thanks guys,
John Lim
@johnlimster no.
@johnlimster - Each school makes their own admission decision. My S didn’t get UCLA regents but Berkeley regents interview.
When will acceptances come out? Also does anybody know how many people were already accepted and why?
@NO102938 ~2000 applicants were accepted early because Berkeley wants them to consider Berkeley seriously & because they need time for Regents/Chancellor’s interviews.
@NO102938 UCB releases the rest of the decisions on March 30th* this year.
Around how many do they usually accept in total?
@ALLCAPS24 about 14000, I believe.
@scarletwitchx @yuccatree okay thanks!
@DaCheaPet why no?
@johnlimster They are completely separate institutions
@johnlimster Getting CHP/Regents at Irvine shows that you are an accomplished student who is qualified enough to get into many great colleges. However, that does not mean that you are any more “likely” to be accepted into said colleges. Each UC makes decisions independently.
@wormholes If your have 2300 SAT and 4.0 GPA, you can say you have above average chance to get into UCB. I thought @johnlimster can say he is more “likely” (please note that it is “likely”) to get into UCB for the same reason.
Hi everyone! So I have a question about reagents. Is it more for the people who need financial aid or is it just for the top applicants? I know a lot of people who didn’t get reagents for UCI or UCB who have glowing applications, and I know some people who are still brilliant but just had lower stats than those other people and got it. The only reason I can think of this happening is because of the financial aid issue. Let me know! thanks
