I doubt it has anything to do with financial aid. Remember that regents is not just stats-based. They also take essays into account.
My S didn’t apply for financial aid and got interview. He does have high stats and good ECs. He didn’t get UCLA interview though, so these are subjective and @ UCB faculty is involved more in the selection process.
Anyone else have their “upload documents” tab removed? Just curious but it’s probably nothing.
@roa211 mine was, but I don’t think it means anything LOL
Definitely has nothing to do with financial aid–most of the people I know who got it probably didn’t apply at all, although I did.
@srk2017 have UCLA early decisions come out?
If you were accepted early to UCB did you hear through email, snail mail or portal?
@jjmama An email saying to check the portal
@jjmama I got an email saying there was an update to your application and to check portal. In the portal, there was a congratulatory acceptance letter and links to other stuff including Regents invite. I got a welcome envelope in the mail a few days later. My friend who was accepted early, but did not get invited for Regents, received an explicit congratulatory email in his regular inbox.
@ANormalSeniorGuy - UCs don’t have ED/EA. For UCB & UCLA, they early admission to regents candidates. UCSB sends invitations to a reception. UCLA send regents invitations 2 weeks back and UCB senta week back.
I was recently admitted to UMichigan and I want to know if it’s better to attend UMichigan (Ross BBA) or Berkeley (Haas BBA) for investment banking.
@srk2017 so if you did not get a email from either one of them then you did not get admitted early?
@srk2017 UCLA regents doesn’t guarantee admission like Berkeley does.
I know they don’t guarantee but it is assumed.
@srk2017 the chances are great sure, but I know of people who got regents invitation for UCLA and got rejected.
I know that UC Berkeley DOES take into account financial situation of the applicant when they decide to offer Regent. In fact, they take everything into account; it seems very subjective to me. It’s like another admission process altogether.
@websensation And where did you get this information? My friend knows someone who is on the regents committee or whatever and they said they don’t take into account financial standing.
for the berkeley campus tour and the library tour, where do we meet first?
Do regents decisions come out the same day as regular admission decisions? I just had my interview today and I can’t wait to find out!
anyone who got admitted 10 Feb received acceptance letter in the mail??
