Yes, we got acceptance letter in the mail.
@vicangie Yes.
@Ishayna how was the interview?
Does anyone have any idea what percentage of OOS regents candidates get accepted?
Can someone shed some light, and possibly calm my nerves, on the topic of impacted majors…? Are they really that hard to get into and as competitive as everyone says? I’ve always wanted to go the two-years-Social-Science-then-Haas route, but I’m not too sure anymore. I know it’s off-topic from everything right now, but thanks!
@jlevi22 Neither look easy but definitely possible.
Thanks!

Can i use score choice while submitting SAT SUBJECT TEST scores??
@ad93107 Yes, because subject tests are not required.
@rhhssenior22 I’m in the same boat as you lol
If my son has not received an interview request by now, we can assume he is in the reject list?
@minir I think that the interviews are only for the Regent’s scholarships, so most people don’t get asked for them. It doesn’t mean that he has been rejected.
Yes, interviews are only Regents and only few hundred were called for that and everyone else will be considered for admission. It’s like EA at other schools with no rejections, but deferrals only.
Hi! Does anyone know how regents are chosen for the other UC’s? Is it based only on grades? I got the regents invite for Berkeley, but I did not receive regents from any other UC. Is this normal?
^^Yes. My student only got the invite for Regents from Berkeley, not anywhere else. Fast forward. She is now a Regents at Berkeley Haas and got into every UC she applied to including UCLA. We were surprised also that she didn’t get invited to apply for Regents at all the other UC schools. It’s still a mystery to us how they arrive at that decision.
@lanabanana99 - Every decision supposed to be holistic at UCs unlike other states. So no one knows how these decisions are made. My DS also got Berkeley Regents only so far. I heard faculty is more involved @ Berkeley vs other UCs so that could be the difference. My DS is high stats with excellent ECs and his friend has similar stats and each got different UC.
I believe only UCB and UCLA have a process that involves/notifies the applicant before they are selected. My older D got Regents at UCSD in 2013, and it was just part of the offer of admission - no interview, supplement, or advance notice.
I’ve received regents for Irvine and Santa Barbara, an interview form Berkeley and nothing LA. From what I understand, LA sends invitations based on scores exclusively. Only Berkeley made me do the interview. For both UCI and UCSB, I just got notified.
How did UCSB notify you? @LindsayHarvard
