*****UC Berkeley 2021 Applicants Thread*****

Are you legal dependent of your father @Kysanx ?

If you mean on his tax returns, then no.

Then you probably can’t show CA residency.

If I got rejected from UCLA can I still get in to Berkeley or is it a lot less likely now?

@ALLCAPS24 I know a decent number of people who got rejected by UCLA but got into Berkley and vice versa

@ALLCAPS24 Their admit rate is about the same. I know people who got rejected to both, accepted to both or only got into one.

So should I be worried about this? I thought I had a pretty good chance at Berkeley and kinda just applied to UCLA for fun

I started a thread asking people to post whatever they know about getting accepted at Cal and rejected from UCLA. Keep your hopes up @ALLCAPS24, you never know

I know someone waitlisted at UCLA and accepted at Cal so don’t lose hope! also the cross-admit rate is supposed to be pretty low anyways.

waitlisted at UCSD denied at UCLA. I just want to go get lost in the wilderness.

Got into UCSD Waitlisted at UCLA probably gonna get Rejected from UCB

@ALLCAPS24 I’m in the same boat. Accepted to UCSD and UCD, but rejected from UCLA. Hoping for the best from UCB. Best of luck to you as well!

Is it true that L&S CS this year is as competitive as EECS for freshman admission?

@woakley5 come on dude. who here has the credentials to say?

L&S doesn’t admit by major, so I highly doubt it.

When is the expected release date for UC Berkeley?

got into UCI, UCD, UCSD, SLO and just got rejected from UCLA. didn’t get the supplement from UCLA but i got the LOR from berkeley. i’m crushed rn but if i got rejected from UCLA bc Berkeley is going to accept me then it’ll all be worth it

Oh and another question. If you get a LOR request from Berkeley, does that mean you’re likely going to get accepted or rejected?

@sonia1216 It means you are borderline and they need the LORs to see whether they should accept you.

@sonia1216 Decisions will be released through the portal on March 30 after 5pm PDT. (This was posted on the applicant portal and in an email they sent). LOR requests typically signify you are a “maybe,” so it could honestly go either way. Hope this helps! Good luck!!
