@nervous17yearold my ds got into both and 3 other UCs. regents process is different so may be you heard about that. he got UCB invitation but not UCLA.
I got an LOR request from Berkeley and was accepted in February, hope this gives people some hope
@emli8100 how well did the people who wrote your LORs know you?
@johnlimster Pretty well. My AP physics teacher is a quirky guy who loves writing and comes up with solid recc letters, and the person I did an internship with liked me a lot.
When is berkeley supposed to release their decisions?
Next friday, the 24th @getmein134
^what, really? @transmitter2342 I thought they were coming out on the 30th
When they sent out that email in February, they said that decisions would be coming out in the late afternoon/early evening of March 30.
Giys why do you refuse to check your portals to see the date. It says March 30th
@transmitter2342 what makes you say that for sure?
I am an international student and I have been rejected from UCLA but I have been accepted into UCD and UCSD for mech engineering. Do I stand any chance for UCB?
@atishba Each UC has a separate process, so yes. I was accepted UCD and UCSD too and rejected UCLA. We’'ll see. Good luck!
@vasodys I have been hearing that some people were asked for a letter of recommendations. I haven’t been asked to submit them, so does that mean I have been rejected?
@atishba read my post here http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/20429423/#Comment_20429423
Hi everyone! I’m not sure I’ve posted here before, but I’ve been stalking this thread (for info.). I was wondering if I can still get into Berkeley. I’m pretty bummed out because I was rejected from UChicago and BostonU but waitlisted at UCLA. Do any of you still think I have a shot at Berkeley (or even USC)? Thanks in advance!
Yeah I’m an admission officer and without knowing literally anything about you would like to inform you that you have a very, very high chance
@monk123 XD
Sorry, I forgot to post my stats:

I had a girl who was a senior at my school last year to look over them and she goes to Cal. I wrote one about drawing because I’ve been drawing seriously since 6th grade. Another was about Pre-Cal (math in general, actually) being my favorite subject because it’s challenging. 3rd one was about how my special talent is making anything fit, and it was more about time management when I transferred to my current school because the workload was way more than what I was used to. Last one was about what sets me apart and I said how I am able to take a boring situation into a “fun” one where everyone is connected because I was able to do this in a 3 hr bus ride with my peers.
[ *] Applied for Financial Aid?: yes
[ *] Intended Major: astrophysics
[ *] State: California

[ /list][ b]Reflection
[ *] Strengths: essays, ec’s, and GPA
[ *] Weaknesses: SAT scores and not as much academic rigor as other kids, but that’s more of my schools’ faults
So do I have a decent chance at Berkeley?
do you guys know if generally uc berkeley receives more applications than ucla?
@sonia1216 I don’t think so. UCLA received over 100,000 applications this year, while UC Berkley received about 85,000.
