I want to wish everyone good luck on getting into UCB!! I hope Ivy Day is successful for you guys also.
I applied to EECS. Good luck to all.
In the meantime, I’m pretty sure I’m going to get destroyed by Princeton and Yale, so what a time to be alive.
If you put a super impacted major, can Berkeley accept you in as undeclared? That’s what UC San Diego did to some people. I was wondering if Berkeley would do the same.
Chance me real quick cuz I got rejected/waitlisted BY EVERY SINCE UC GODDAM (tfw UCI waitlists you)

wtfff how tf did you not get in anywhere you have all of these amazing things wow but honestly the UC’s have been horrible this year like all of my teachers have been calling it a bloodbath lol @beegbeeegboi
My EC’s are weak, but aren’t test scores/gpa weighted more than ec’s?
How could you not get into ANY UC? Baffles me!
@am1970 I’m spooked.
I feel like the UCs focused a lot more on essays and ECs and not as much on scores and grades (obviously they’re still extremely important) this year. And because Berkeley is known for conducting a more holistic review process than the other UCs, I think this change may factor heavily into tomorrow’s decisions. Just my two cents.
A little message to everyone awaiting tomorrows decision:
I know how long you’ve been waiting to hear, I know how bad you want to get in. I know that your parents REALLY want you to go here, and that everyone would be so proud to see you get in. I know how hard you worked and how much extra time you spent studying with the hopes that it will all pay off and you’ll attend this school. Every year at my high school, students are crushed when they don’t get into their dream schools. I’ve seen some of the hardest working, brightest, and most honest students get rejected from a school they deserved to get into. That’s part of the process, and it sucks.
But even if you get rejected from every single school you applied to, it’s important to see the bigger picture. You put everything into this process, and if you really are the type of student that has drive and motivation, whether it’s super high gpa, insane service hours, work experience, or test scores, then obviously you have a good work ethic and solid foundation. These two things will take you much farther than having a degree at one place over another. Ultimately what matters is that you keep working hard and enjoying life, and good things will come to you. It might not seem that way at times, but it’s true.
I wish everyone the best of luck tomorrow. No matter what happens, know that you will do great in whatever path life takes you. Don’t let one decision define who you are, and especially not who you want to be.
Edit: PM if you need any advice, I have experience with the UC system
I applied for Math.
A big thank you to those people posting inspirational messages! Good luck to all of you!
@beegbeeegboi Don’t worry if you get waitlisted! Last year a bunch of kids I know got waitlisted at a lot of UC’s and then got into a lot of them. Definitely SIR to a school you are committed to going to, but don’t lose hope. The way I would approach it, is SIR to a school like that is your final decision and take any more acceptances that come in from waitlists as they come. Wherever you end up, I’m sure it will be great!
May the luck be around with all of us tomorrow.
.
@beegbeeegboi my test scores and ecs were a lot weaker than yours what the heck
I already know I’m getting rejected so idek why I’m trying anymore
