@calcollegemom could you specify on cal and slo? I thought they were both hands on. Thanks
D accepted OOS-undeclared major. She received LOR request and submitted 2. I don’t know if she was a “maybe” applicant and those LOR tipped the scales. Honored to be accepted at such an amazing institution.
@2017xxxx from what I’ve heard, switching within CoE is pretty easy.
@2017xxxx Go where you feel happiest. That will make your college experience the best!!! I
suggest you write a list of pros and cons.Cal tends to have budget problems in UC system and for Rice University the pros are that it has GORGEOUS campus and Spanish architecture, welcoming student body, warm weather, and like you know it is well known for good for engineering and math. I suggest you like think about and do not rely on people’s opinion lol. It’s your life and the college you are going to choose will determine your fate. Good luck fam.
Hey everyone,
I’m torn between UC Berkeley and USC. Anyone have any advice?
I am a chemistry major (pre-med), and I will for sure be going to medical school.
Any tips/points on which would be the better choice?
In with only 30 Act
3.86 UW
4.34 W
Letters and science
top 10%
bunch of EC’s: national u19 cricket, volleyball, animal shelter charity, hackathons, coding websites…
Anyone know why there is no implication of intended major as Computer science for me? I know there is a declaration process but it only says letters and science for me.
@unc1997 Same with me. I’m extremely happy and fortunate enough to go to UCLA despite my Berkeley rejection!
@csekid You get into Letters and Science first, and after completing the prerequisites you apply for the CS major.
Thank you! I got that part but was assuming they would atleast put “intended CS”
my only Rejection & I got the LOR
My LOR were pretty bad because I had my teachers do them so last minute so maybe that could have had something to do with it but got into UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCI, UCR, UCSB,and UCSC for Bio
good luck everyone!!!
Is there a thread for admitted students?
Guys, I’m generally a pretty strong applicant, but I applied EECS and was waitlisted. In an appeal letter, could I state that I would like to switch majors to MechE?
meche is almost as selective as eecs… and you’d have to provide concrete reasons. otherwise they’ll think you’re doing it just to get in.
So… accepted to Berkeley engineering, but rejected by that of SB and UCLA? No idea what the colleges look for anymore haha.
berkeley mech is definitely not as selective as eecs. I wanted to do eecs, but I had no chance so I applied mech. I go in for mech on thurs, but i dont think i would have gotten in if I chose eecs
I was accepted to UC-Berkeley recently, and on CalCentral it says that I have $0 in aid. My family makes between 50k-75k and I am an out of state student. Does Berkeley post financial aid after I submit my SIR? Is it possible that I don’t get any financial aid?
@PinstripeQ out of state students don’t get financial aid, sorry fam
@LookAtThisNet Dang that sucks, thanks tho
Question: Does Berkeley accept all ap tests with a 3 credit? As a prospective CS or pre-haas major, are there any ap tests that I need to get 4/5s on in order to get credit?
Accepted with a 630 on my maths SAT…
