My son got this email last year and then was waitlisted. My daughter (who is more qualified than son was) just got the email. I don’t know if this is a bad sign…
@simon11909 Did you receive it?
My D19 received it at 5:30 pacific time.
no worries, my kid got in, so no trends here…I think they just send it out to everyone who is qualified for FPF.
@ProfessorPlum168 Wait what do you mean by qualified for FPF?
@seniorSzn all L&S admits (not MET) are qualified to join FPF if they choose to do so. I don’t think this option is available for other colleges.
What does FPF stand for?
Fall Program for Freshmen
@ProfessorPlum168 all L&S admits? So is it an informal probable acceptance?
I got an email. Did anyone who apply not get an email?
I’m pretty sure all applicants who applied to L&S would have gotten this email.
@ProfessorPlum168 sounds stupid but what is L&S? Letters & Science?
@Burrowsc yes that is correct
Yea I have, I’m curious to see if any LNS have not received this email cuz it then could mean something
My son received the email as well
Does it mean anything if someone who didnt apply to LNS didnt receive one?
The content sounds like it isnt specified towards a school.
Referring to the post you made, it cannot be definitely determined whether this is a good sign or not.
Since the previous app @arewetherenow got waitlisted, it doesnt mean a definite acceptance (the email reception on itself doesnt mean that, but getting in UCB in march doesnt mean it was due to the letter received).
So the letter doesnt mean anything, but I have no clue as to how Berkeley chooses the apps email IDs to send these to. The email contents sound like something promotional and drawing-in-apps-type on UCB’s end.
All in all, the letter doesnt mean anything about the decision due in march for the people waiting on them. It could mean a deny, waitlist, or acceptance.
This is just my summary based on what i gathered from all the relevant comments here.
Thanks.
@TheGuy1 I applied to CoE and I never received the first pathways email but I was admitted so I don’t think these emails mean anything.
Edit: Sorry I just noticed the second post
@anya00 Alright thanks for your confirmation! No worries!
This settles the doubts i guess?
Thanks again!
All the best!
I think the letter was emailed to students who have ELC (eligibility in the local context). I have twins and the one with ELC received the Pathways email yesterday but the other twin who only has ELS (eligibility in the state context) did NOT receive the Pathways email.
