Hello all!
I am a US Citizen living in India, currently pursuing my Undergraduate course of study here. I am currently in the Second Year of the Engineering program (In Electronics and Communication, which is roughly equivalent to an EECS program in the States) at a pretty good institute(Ranked below 50 all over India). My record looks pretty good so far, with:
(a) 10.0 CGPA in tenth grade.
(b) 95.4% in 12th grade. (For those of you who are unaware of the Indian system of education, our 10th grade and 12th grade scores are both crucial for analyzing one's track record in high school).
And my GPA in college is pretty good(Between 8.97 and 9 out of 10 so far, after my First Year here).
As on date,I still haven't written the GRE examination,so couldn't put those details up for you. I really want to get into UC-Berkeley's Graduation program after I complete the two years that are left of my Undergraduation. I want to know what exactly Berkeley looks for in an application coming from another country(Though I am a US citizen). I've heard that Berkeley's acceptance of International students is quite liberal(Though I'm still confused as to whether I'll be considered an International student or not!). I have pretty good extra-curriculars also(Giving my B.A examination in Indian Music next year!,apart from a few other activities also).I do have plans of doing Internships and other projects the following year, but have done none as on date. Please guide me on this subject so that my application to Berkeley will look fairly acceptable. :)
Information from current students or Alumni will also be very helpful!
Thank You Very Much! :)

No offense, but EECS is the HARDEST major to get into UC Berkeley. It is a reach for everyone. It is very odd to determine the chances of getting into UC schools including UCLA. They are random in admissions.
